From CSDocs
CS maintains its own email server complete with virus and spam filtering. When you receive a CS account, email is included. Your email address will be username@cs.iupui.edu. We support IMAP and SMTP connections over SSL as well as provide a webmail client. Users logged into pegasus.cs.iupui.edu can also use console programs like mutt and pine to access their email.

[edit] How can I get Outlook to accept the security certificate automatically?
The CIS email server uses self-signed SSL certificates to provide encryption for incoming and outgoing email processing. In Outlook, you will receive a warning each time about not recognizing the Certificate Authority. To get Outlook to use these certificates automatically, you will need to import them.
For incoming messages (IMAP), do the following:
- Open Internet Explorer
- Enter the following URL: go to http://www.cs.iupui.edu/facilities/certs/imap.cs.iupui.edu.crt
- Ignore any error messages
- Select Open in the pop-up window
- Select "Install Certificate"
- A wizard will complete the process.
For outgoing messages (SMTP), do the following:
- Open Internet Explorer
- Enter the following URL: go to http://www.cs.iupui.edu/facilities/certs/smtp.cs.iupui.edu.crt
- Ignore any error messages
- Select Open in the pop-up window
- Select "Install Certificate"
- A wizard will complete the process.
